World’s Biggest Problems
- Our world’s biggest problem is lack of transparency among governments and the people. Citizens of all countries around the world have the right to understand how and why certain laws are passed.
- Another common problem in this world is cultural, racial, and religious intolerance. I believe this derives from a deeper misunderstanding and belief in ones own opinion.
- The problem of pollution is a huge issue in our world and our generation. Air pollution from manufacturing and industrial practices, as well as the increased use of single-use products as caused a massive amount of waste and pollution that is producing harmful effects on our environment.
- The global economic market is very unstable and sporadic. China’s economy is slowing, the oil industry is plummeting, and the Euro is at its lowest point in history.
- The honeybee population is lowering at an alarming rate. The use of pesticides and herbicides to create GMOs kills colony of bees and bees are the most important aspect in pollination.
- The european migrant crisis is a major problem plaguing many countries. These innocent people are fleeing unstable and war torn countries where they have lost jobs, homes, and family and friends.
- The war on drugs is failing and a waste of money and resources. Drug use is looked at as more as a crime rather than an addiction or illness. The war causes more violence.
- ISIS is spreading and radicalizing individuals at an alarming rate and has already taken the lives of innocent civilians across the globe. Their inhumane and misinformed ideology needs to be addressed and squandered.
- Widespread poverty and famine is problem many individuals face in regions throughout the world. Some of it is caused by unstable and corrupt governments, while others are caused by the environment and lack of sustainable professions.
- The increasing global population is a serious issue that causes a domino effect of other global problems. I believe a major proponent of this is the lack of knowledge of contraception around the globe. While many westerners are well aware of the benefits of contraceptions, others are completely unaware.
- I think this problem could be solved by having active citizens monitor and audit government officials to ensure they are acting legally and ethically.
- I think this problem could be solved by teaching people of different backgrounds the importance of each others culture and religion. If everyone was able to relate to each other the would would be much more peaceful place.
- This problem could be solved by implementing cleaner and more practical manufacturing practices as well as creating more environmentally friendly products.
- Creating a more sustainable economy and utilizing a singular currency and restricting trade between unstable countries could stabilize and potentially grow the economy.
- The government has to restrict the use of certain pesticides and herbicides and use more scientific research to reduce the death of bees.
- The United States and other countries should do the best they can to accommodate these migrants because that is the humane thing to do.
- We should take a similar approach to that of Canada and Portugal where they treat drug users with addiction and rehabilitation rather than throwing them into prison to repeat their crimes once out.
- Solving this problem is extremely complex but I believe if a number of powerful countries work together to use their resources they can stop the spread of ISIS and end the threat of global terror.
- Poverty and famine can be solved by distributing wealth and sustainable crops to the hardest hit countries.
- Making those in regions of the world that lack sufficient and advanced technology aware to the benefits of contraception and the availability will seriously decrease the growing population and spread of medical disease .

Hi Ethan,
ReplyDeleteI found all your points very clever and thoughtful. I totally agree with number two. intolerance people about religions, different cultural backgrounds, and race are problems that we all should collaborate. Educations is a key element for this problem and it should start at home. Tolerance its something that can be thought at school but it should start at everyone's home.

DeleteEthan, I really liked the things you came up with. A few of them I never would've thought of such as the honey bee population. I hadn't realized that this was happening. Honey bees help to pollinate flowers and spread seeds and without them our natural environment would suffer, so I agree that this is a major problem to be considered. I think all of your solutions are clear and concise and most of them could be implemented fairly easily.
ReplyDeleteOn my list, I put some similar things, but I narrowed them down a bit. For example, I put alcoholism and ocean pollution instead of war on drugs and pollution in general. Check out my list here:
